"The more people do, the more society develops, the more
problems arise. The increasing desolation of nature, the
exhaustion of resources, the uneasiness and disintegration
of the human spirit, all have been brought about by
humanity's trying to accomplish something. Originally
there was no reason to progress, and nothing that had to
be done. We have come to the point at which there is no
other way than to bring about a 'movement' not to bring
anything about."
(Masanobu Fukuoka, The One-Straw Revolution, 1978)
...democracy is here, no need to improvise or do
anything else with it, just, get with it where you are...
ok, ok, enough already.
The personal/collective process of imagination-creation & change. What inspires/motivates to take an action for change in a world that seems dominated by old, inflexible industrial models and organizational systems of power? What is the origin, the source of our individual power...our creativity & hope..ability to learn, change and evolve? We can never really know from whence it may emerge. What we do is play, experiment, improvise...and create the right kind of public space to do so.
